Telling jokes to drunken
strangers at 1AM.
One of my bucket list items for many years was to try doing standup comedy. So in 2016 I did. Next thing I knew I was performing in Greenwich Village 3-4 times a week and having a blast doing it.
Doing standup was a hugely beneficial experience for me, and taught me a lot about presentation in front of an audience that I think carries over directly into what we do when we present work to clients.
So I wrote an article for Adweek about it.
When I moved back to Atlanta, I continued doing standup, and co-produced my own standup show with Amy Brown for four years, including some online editions during the pandemic, which were interesting to say the least. We also put on some charity shows and raised $2000 for both the N.A.A.C.P. and Answer ALS.
